Abstract

The study describes the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) and how it impacted micro and small
enterprises (Mypes) in the area of textile handicrafts in the city of Juliaca - Puno Region. Taking into consideration that
the computer tools induce the improvement of productivity and marketing processes of the companies that use it. Twelve
surveys were carried out during the fortnight of July 2017, which were answered by textile micro-enterprises and
clothing handicrafts located in the city of Juliaca. The results show that 50% of the micro-entrepreneurs use ICT, and that
only 17% have plans to have ICTs and 33% of companies do not have it and do not plan in the short term to use the
computer tools as part Of the productive optimization and marketing process. In short, the use of computer tools from the
Mypes of the city of Juliaca is weak in order to publicize its products at national and international level, including the
production process.
